Þessi lög fjalla um tekjustofna sveitarfélaga og skilgreina hvaðan sveitarfélög fá tekjur sínar til að reka opinbera þjónustu. Lögin hafa áhrif á öll sveitarfélög á Íslandi og íbúa þeirra sem greiða sveitarsjóðsgjöld og aðra staðbundna gjöld.
This law governs the revenue sources of municipalities and defines how local governments obtain income to fund public services. The law affects all municipalities in Iceland and their residents who pay local taxes and other municipal fees.
