Þessi lög afnema 70 ára aldurstakmörkun fyrir starfsmenn ríkisins, sem þýðir að ríkisstarfsmenn þurfa ekki lengur að hætta störfum við 70 ára aldur. Lögin hafa áhrif á alla starfsmenn í þjónustu íslenska ríkisins.
