Þessi lög fjalla um atvinnuleysistryggingar og Ábyrgðasjóð launa sem veitir starfsmönnum vernd gegn launatapi. Lögin ná til allra launþega á Íslandi og veita þeim rétt til bóta við atvinnuleysi og ábyrgð á launum ef vinnuveitandi getur ekki staðið við skuldbindingar sínar.
This law covers unemployment insurance and the Wage Guarantee Fund which provides protection for employees against wage loss. The law applies to all wage earners in Iceland and grants them the right to unemployment benefits and wage guarantees if their employer cannot meet their obligations.
