Þessi lög kveða á um samstarfsnefnd milli Alþingis og þjóðkirkjunnar sem hefur það hlutverk að fjalla um mál er varða samskipti ríkis og kirkju. Nefndin tekur til meðferðar lagabreytingar og stefnumótun sem snýr að stöðu þjóðkirkjunnar í íslenska ríkiskerfinu.
