Almannatryggingalögin stofna og stjórna almannatryggingakerfinu á Íslandi, sem veitir öllum íbúum grunntryggingu í formi lífeyris, örorkubóta, atvinnuleysisbóta og annarra félagslegra bóta. Lögin tryggja að allir sem búa löglega á Íslandi eigi rétt á þessari grunntryggingu.
The social security law establishes and governs Iceland's social security system, providing all residents with basic coverage including pensions, disability benefits, unemployment benefits and other social benefits. The law ensures that everyone who legally resides in Iceland is entitled to this basic social protection.
