Þessi lög fjalla um rétt foreldra til orlofs í tengslum við fæðingu eða ættleiðingu barns. Lögin gilda um alla foreldra á Íslandi og veita þeim rétt til greiðs orlofs til að annast nýfætt barn.
This law regulates parents' rights to leave in connection with the birth or adoption of a child. The law applies to all parents in Iceland and grants them the right to paid leave to care for a newborn child.
