Þessi lög heimila Íslandi að undirrita og fullgilda valfrjálsa bókun við alþjóðasamning um efnahagsleg, félagsleg og menningarleg réttindi. Lögin hafa áhrif á íslenska ríkið og skuldbinda það til frekari alþjóðlegra skyldna varðandi mannréttindi.
This law authorizes Iceland to sign and ratify an optional protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The law affects the Icelandic state and commits it to additional international obligations regarding human rights.
