Þessi lög fjalla um úttekt eða endurskoðun á starfsemi Vegagerðarinnar, sem er ríkisstofnunin sem ber ábyrgð á vegakerfinu á Íslandi. Lögin heimila eða krefjast þess að starfsemi stofnunarinnar sé könnuð og metin.
