Almannatryggingalögin kveða á um almannatryggingakerfið á Íslandi sem veitir öllum íbúum grunnvernd gegn tekjumissi og heilbrigðiskostnaði. Lögin ná til allra sem búa löglega á Íslandi og kveða á um bætur eins og lífeyri, örorkubætur, atvinnuleysisbætur og heilbrigðisþjónustu.
