Þessi lög kveða á um réttindi og skyldur starfsmanna í þjónustu íslenska ríkisins. Lögin ná til allra sem starfa fyrir ríkisstofnanir og -fyrirtæki og skilgreina hvað þeir mega gera og hvað þeir þurfa að gera í starfi sínu.
This law defines the rights and obligations of employees working for the Icelandic state. It applies to all personnel employed by government institutions and state-owned enterprises, establishing what they are entitled to and what duties they must fulfill in their positions.
