Þessi lög viðurkenna formlega að Anfal-herferðin gegn Kúrdum hafi verið þjóðarmorð. Lögin hafa táknrænt gildi og sýna stuðning Íslands við Kúrda og viðurkenningu á sögulegu ranglæti.
This law formally recognizes the Anfal campaign against the Kurds as genocide. The law has symbolic significance and demonstrates Iceland's support for the Kurdish people and acknowledgment of historical injustice.
