Þessi lög setja á stofnun fjármálastöðugleikaráðs sem hefur það hlutverk að fylgjast með og meta stöðugleika fjármálakerfisins á Íslandi. Ráðið hefur áhrif á fjármálastofnanir, seðlabankann og aðrar stofnanir sem tengjast fjármálastarfsemi.
