Þessi lög kveða á um framkvæmd reglna um jafna meðferð fólks óháð kynþætti eða þjóðernisuppruna. Lögin hafa áhrif á alla einstaklinga og stofnanir á Íslandi og eru ætluð að koma í veg fyrir mismunun.
