Virðisaukaskattur er skattur sem lagður er á vörur og þjónustu og greiðist af neytendum við kaup. Lögin setja reglur um innheimtu og umsýslu þessa skatts og hafa áhrif á öll fyrirtæki og einstaklinga sem kaupa eða selja vörur og þjónustu á Íslandi.
