Almannatryggingalögin kveða á um almannatryggingakerfið á Íslandi sem veitir öllum íbúum landsins grunnvernd gegn tekjumissi og tryggir aðgang að heilbrigðisþjónustu. Lögin ná til allra sem búa á Íslandi og eiga rétt á bótum eins og ellilífeyri, örorkubótum og sjúkratryggingum.
