Almannatryggingarlögin setja ramma fyrir íslenska almannatryggingakerfið sem veitir borgröum félagslega vernd gegn veikindum, atvinnuleysi, örorku og öldrun. Lögin gilda um alla sem búa á Íslandi og hafa rétt til bóta frá Tryggingastofnun ríkisins.
The Social Security Act establishes Iceland's social security system that provides citizens with social protection against illness, unemployment, disability, and old age. The law applies to all residents of Iceland who are entitled to benefits from the State Social Security Institute.
