Þessi lög gilda um grunnskóla á Íslandi og setja reglur um skipulag, rekstur og innihald grunnskólanáms. Lögin ná til allra barna á aldrinum 6-16 ára sem eiga rétt á og skyldu til grunnskólagöngu.
This law governs primary and lower secondary schools in Iceland and establishes rules for the organization, operation and curriculum of compulsory education. The law applies to all children aged 6-16 years who have the right to and obligation for compulsory schooling.
