Þessi lög fjalla um rétt foreldra til orlofs í tengslum við fæðingu og ættleiðingu barna, auk réttar til sorgarleyfis við andlát nákominna. Lögin hafa áhrif á alla starfsmenn á Íslandi sem eiga von á barni eða hafa misst ættingja.
This law covers parents' rights to leave from work in connection with childbirth and adoption, as well as the right to bereavement leave when close relatives pass away. The law affects all employees in Iceland who are expecting a child or have lost family members.
