Þessi lög kveða á um skyldu til tryggingar lífeyrisréttinda og stjórn lífeyrissjóða á Íslandi. Lögin hafa áhrif á alla launþega og vinnuveitendur sem skuldbinda sig til að greiða í lífeyrissjóði til að tryggja eftirlaunatekjur.
