Almannatryggingalögin kveða á um félagslegt öryggiskerfi Íslands sem veitir öllum íbúum grunnvernd gegn tekjutapi og heilbrigðiskostnaði. Lögin fjalla um ellilífeyri, örorkubætur, atvinnuleysisbætur, barnabætur og önnur félagsleg réttindi sem fjármögnuð eru af ríkinu. Þessi lög hafa áhrif á alla sem búa á Íslandi og eiga rétt á félagslegri vernd.
The social security laws establish Iceland's social safety net system that provides all residents with basic protection against income loss and healthcare costs.
