Þessi lög fjalla um rétt foreldra til orlofs í tengslum við fæðingu eða ættleiðingu barns. Lögin gilda um alla starfsmenn á Íslandi sem eiga von á barni eða ættleiða barn og veita þeim rétt til greiðs orlofs.
This law governs parental leave rights in connection with the birth or adoption of a child. The law applies to all employees in Iceland who are expecting or adopting a child and grants them the right to paid leave.
