Almannatryggingalögin kveða á um almannatryggingakerfi Íslands sem veitir öllum löglegum íbúum grunnlífeyri, örorkubætur, atvinnuleysisbætur og aðrar félagslegar bætur. Lögin ná til allra sem búa löglega á Íslandi og hafa greitt inn í kerfið.
The Social Security Act establishes Iceland's social security system that provides all legal residents with basic pensions, disability benefits, unemployment benefits and other social benefits. The law covers all individuals who legally reside in Iceland and have contributed to the system.
