Þessi lög fjalla um rekstur Áfengis- og tóbaksverslunar ríkisins (ÁTVR) og hvernig starfsemi hennar tengist lýðheilsumarkmiðum. Lögin hafa áhrif á alla sem kaupa áfengi og tóbak á Íslandi og skipuleggja hvernig ríkiseinokun á sölu þessara vara skal stuðla að bættri þjóðheilsu.
This law regulates the operation of the State Alcohol and Tobacco Company of Iceland (ÁTVR) and how its activities relate to public health objectives. The law affects all consumers of alcohol and tobacco in Iceland and governs how the state monopoly on sales of these products should promote better public health.
