Þessi lög stjórna fiskveiðum í íslenskri fiskveiðilandhelgi og setja reglur um hvernig fiskveiðar eru stjórnaðar. Lögin hafa áhrif á alla sem stunda fiskveiðar í íslenskri landhelgi, þar með talið íslenska og erlenda fiskveiðiskip.
