Þessi lög fjalla um rétt foreldra til orlofs við fæðingu barns og sorgarleyfi við andlát nákomins aðstandanda. Lögin hafa áhrif á alla starfsmenn á Íslandi sem eiga rétt á fæðingarorlofi og foreldraorlofi eftir fæðingu eða ættleiðingu barns.
This law regulates parents' rights to leave from work following the birth of a child and bereavement leave upon the death of a close family member. The law affects all employees in Iceland who are entitled to maternity, paternity, and parental leave after the birth or adoption of a child.
