Barnaverndarlögin vernda réttindi og velferð barna á Íslandi. Lögin heimila barnaverndarþjónustu sveitarfélaga að grípa inn í þegar börn eru í hættu eða vanrækt, og setja fram reglur um meðferð barnaverndarmála.
The Child Protection Act safeguards the rights and welfare of children in Iceland. The law authorizes municipal child protection services to intervene when children are at risk or neglected, and establishes procedures for handling child protection cases.
