Lögin framlengja og auka bætur sem tengdust efnahagslegum áhrifum COVID-19 heimsfaraldursins. Þau framlengja greiðslur til einstaklinga í sóttkví til ársloka 2021 og atvinnuleysisbætur þeim tengdar til mars 2022. This law extends and expands benefits related to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It extends payments to individuals in quarantine until the end of 2021 and related unemployment benefits until March 2022. The law also changes unemployment insurance rules so that those who complete vocational rehabilitation can receive an increased insurance ratio, and the period during which people can receive benefits when considered unable to work due to illness increases from 12 to 24 months. The law applies to all employees affected by the pandemic, people in quarantine, and those undergoing vocational rehabilitation.
