Lögin herða kröfur um endurgreiðslur til kvikmyndaframleiðenda á Íslandi. Þau skýra betur hvaða kostnaður veitir rétt til endurgreiðslu og setja strangari reglur um bókhald og staðfestingu kostnaðar. Framleiðendur sem fá endurgreiðslu þurfa að geta sýnt fram á stuðning íslenska ríkisins við sýningu myndefnis og veita Íslandsstofu aðgang að kynningarefni. Lögin krefjast endurskoðunar kostnaðaruppgjörs ef endurgreiðsla fer yfir 3 milljónir króna.
This law strengthens requirements for rebates to film producers in Iceland. It clarifies which production costs qualify for rebates and introduces stricter rules for accounting and cost verification. Producers receiving rebates must acknowledge Icelandic state support when showing their content and provide Promote Iceland with free access to promotional materials. The law requires auditor confirmation of cost settlements when rebates exceed 3 million ISK.
