This law reforms the composition and operations of the Labour Court (Félagsdómur), which resolves labor disputes between employees and employers. The main change is that three of the five judges must be appointed judges nominated by the Supreme Court, making the court more professional and independent. The law strengthens judicial independence by explicitly stating that judges decide cases based solely on law and are not subject to anyone's authority. The law affects all parties involved in labor disputes, including trade unions, employers, and anyone who brings cases to the Labour Court.
