Lögin fjölga dómurum við Landsrétt varanlega úr 15 í 16. Breytingin var gerð til að bregðast við vanhæfi dómstólsins, þar sem hann hefur oft verið undirmannaður frá stofnun árið 2018. Þetta hefur haft áhrif á starfsálag dómara og getu dómstólsins til að fara með mál á viðunandi tíma. Breytingin tekur þegar gildi og á að bæta starfsskilyrði Landsréttar og réttaröryggi almennings.
This law permanently increases the number of judges at the Court of Appeals (Landsréttur) from 15 to 16. The change was made in response to the court being understaffed since its establishment in 2018, which has affected judges' workload and the court's ability to process cases in a timely manner.
