Þessi lög tryggja launagreiðslur til starfsfólks og sjálfstætt starfandi einstaklinga sem geta ekki unnið vegna eldgosa og jarðhræringa í Grindavík frá 11. nóvember 2023 til 29. febrúar 2024. Vinnumálastofnun veitir stuðning til atvinnurekenda til að greiða laun starfsfólks síns, og einnig beint til starfsfólks ef atvinnurekandi getur ekki greitt laun vegna rekstrarörðugleika. Sjálfstætt starfandi fólk með starfsstöð í Grindavík getur einnig fengið stuðning vegna tekjutaps ef það hefur staðið í skilum með skatta- og tryggingagjaldagreiðslur í að minnsta kosti þrjá mánuði af undanförnum fjórum. Markmiðið er að vernda afkomu fólks og viðhalda ráðningarsamböndum á meðan náttúruhamfarir standa yfir.
This law ensures wage payments for employees and self-employed individuals who cannot work due to volcanic eruptions and seismic activity in Grindavík from November 11, 2023 to February 29, 2024.
