This law strengthens rules on confiscating financial proceeds from criminal offenses. Financial institutions are required to provide prosecutors with information during criminal investigations, even if subject to confidentiality rules. The District Prosecutor must operate a special unit that works on recovery and confiscation of criminal proceeds and manages seized assets. Attachment of assets will no longer prevent execution on the same property, and confiscation may be ordered without prosecuting a specific person if the owner is unknown.
