This law amends Iceland's immigration law regarding the revocation of international protection. It allows authorities to revoke international protection if a foreign national is deemed dangerous to national security, has been convicted of a serious crime and poses a danger to society, or has been convicted of repeated offenses threatening public order or safety. When international protection is revoked, residence and work permits become invalid, but temporary residence permits may be granted for tolerated stay with special conditions. The law also allows authorities to withhold information from parties in cases where it is deemed necessary for national security or other special reasons.
