Þessi lög leggja niður Heyrnar- og talmeinastöð sem sjálfstæða stofnun frá 1. maí 2026. Heilsugæsla höfuðborgarsvæðisins tekur við öllum eignum, skuldbindingum og starfsemi stofnunarinnar, og embætti forstjóra hennar er lagt niður. Starfsmenn stofnunarinnar sem sinna þeim verkefnum sem flytjast til Heilsugæslunnar halda stöðum sínum með sömu ráðningarkjörum. Lögin fela einnig í sér breytingar á öðrum lögum þar sem vísanir í Heyrnar- og talmeinastöð eru fjarlægðar.
This law abolishes the Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing as an independent institution from May 1, 2026. The Capital Area Primary Healthcare takes over all assets, liabilities, and operations of the institute, and the position of its director is eliminated. Employees of the institute who perform tasks transferred to Primary Healthcare will retain their positions with the same employment terms. The law also amends other legislation by removing references to the Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
