The law raises the general income threshold for old-age pensioners from 438,000 ISK to 720,000 ISK, allowing elderly people to earn more income without reducing their pension. Pensioners who qualified for an age supplement before reaching pension age retain that right and receive the supplement added to their pension. The law also establishes a new information system for coordination teams at the Social Insurance Administration that collects information about health and social services to improve collaboration between institutions. Service providers such as VIRK, the Directorate of Labour, municipalities, and healthcare institutions will be required to share information through an electronic service portal.
