This law changes how payments from the Maternity/Paternity Leave Fund and bereavement leave are determined. Previously, parents received different maximum amounts depending on when their child was born or adopted - for example, parents who had a baby on December 31st could receive lower payments than those who had a baby on January 1st if increases took effect at New Year's. Now the same amounts apply to all parents using their entitlement at the same time, regardless of the child's birth date. This also applies to payments for child loss, stillbirths, and miscarriages.
