This law allows police to use electronic monitoring for individuals subject to restraining orders or eviction from their homes. If there is suspicion that someone will violate a restraining order or eviction order, police can require them to wear a location tracking device to verify compliance with the order. The person being monitored must assist police, keep the device charged, and may only enter the restricted area with special police permission. The law also authorizes the minister and national police commissioner to set detailed regulations on how the monitoring system should be implemented.
