The law shortens the maximum unemployment benefit period from 30 months to 24 months and changes how benefits are calculated based on work percentage. The Unemployment Insurance Fund is abolished and the Directorate of Labour takes over all administration of the system directly with funding from the state treasury. New rules address the situation of individuals who lose their jobs but still have ownership in companies, requiring them to report a work percentage of at least 25%. A special December supplement is also introduced for those registered as unemployed in November.
