The law authorizes the minister to allocate an additional 2,700 tons of ungutted cod for coastal fishing during the 2025/2026 fishing year, on top of regular quotas. This additional catch must be offset against future total allowable catch limits over the following years, and must be fully balanced no later than the 2029/2030 fishing year. The law is a temporary measure that provides coastal fishing vessels with increased short-term quotas with an obligation to repay them later.
