Flokkur fólksins
Jónína Björk Óskarsdóttir er alþingismaður Flokks fólksins frá 2024, kjörin í Suðvesturkjördæmi. Hún hefur helgað starfsferli sínum hagsmunamálum almennings og aldraðra, með sérstakri áherslu á félagsþjónustu og velferðarmál. Áður en hún tók sæti á Alþingi starfaði hún sem skrifstofustjóri Flokks fólksins frá 2019 til 2024 og gegndi áður lykilhlutverki sem forstöðumaður félagsstarfs aldraðra í Hafnarfirði í yfir tvær áratugi. Pólitísk störf Jónínu hófust í Ólafsfirði á áttunda og níunda áratugnum þegar hún sat í stjórn Alþýðuflokksins og stofnaði Samtök um betri bæ árið 1994, sama ár og hún gegndi starfi formanns bæjarráðs. Hún hefur einnig gegnt fjölda trúnaðarstarfa í opinberum stofnunum, þar á meðal í stjórnum Húsnæðisstofnunar ríkisins, Íslandspósts og Byggðastofnunar. Starfsferill hennar endurspeglar djúpa skuldbindingu við samfélagsmál og réttindi venjulegs fólks. Jónína er fædd á Sauðárkróki árið 1953 og ólst upp í verkalýðsfjölskyldu. Hún hefur þrjár dætur með fyrri maka sínum Matthíasi Sæmundssyni og þrjú stjúpbörn með núverandi maka sínum Jóhanni S. Sigurðssyni. Reynsla hennar af starfi fyrir hagsmuni verkafólks og aldraðra hefur mótað pólitíska framgöngu hennar og áherslu á félagslegt réttlæti.
Jónína Björk Óskarsdóttir is a member of parliament for the People's Party since 2024, elected in the Southwest constituency. She has dedicated her career to advocating for the interests of ordinary people and the elderly, with particular emphasis on social services and welfare issues. Before taking her seat in parliament, she served as office manager for the People's Party from 2019 to 2024 and previously held a key role as director of social activities for the elderly in Hafnarfjörður for over two decades. Jónína's political career began in Ólafsfjörður in the 1970s and 1980s when she served on the board of the Social Democratic Party and founded the Association for a Better Municipality in 1994, the same year she served as chairman of the municipal council. She has also held numerous positions of trust in public institutions, including on the boards of the State Housing Agency, Iceland Post, and the Regional Development Institute. Her career reflects a deep commitment to community affairs and the rights of ordinary people. Jónína was born in Sauðárkrókur in 1953 and grew up in a working-class family. She has three daughters with her former spouse Matthías Sæmundsson and three stepchildren with her current spouse Jóhann S. Sigurðsson. Her experience working for the interests of working people and the elderly has shaped her political approach and emphasis on social justice.
