Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að stofnuð verði starfshópur sem á að finna bettar leiðir til að gefa fólki örugg skilríki, eins og ökuskírteini og vegabréf. Tillagan kemur fram vegna þess að fleiri og fleiri þjónustur hins opinbera fara fram á netinu og fólk þarf að geta auðveldlega sannað hver það er með öruggum hætti. Starfshópurinn myndi skoða hvort hægt væri að gera skilríki aðgengileg á snjallsímum og myndu fulltrúar frá ýmsum stofnunum vinna saman að því verkefni. Ef tillagan gengur í gegn myndu íslensk stjórnvöld fá betri áætlun um hvernig bæta á skilríkjakerfi landsins og hversu mikill kostnaður væri við það, og myndu Íslendingar geta notað nýjari og öruggari skilríki í stað pappírsskjala.
This parliamentary resolution proposes creating a working group to find better ways to provide people with secure identity documents, such as driver's licenses and passports. The proposal comes forward because more and more government services are moving online and people need to be able to easily prove who they are securely. The working group would examine whether it's possible to make identity documents accessible on smartphones, and representatives from various organizations would work together on this task. If the resolution passes, Icelandic authorities would get a better plan for how to improve the country's identity document system and how much it would cost, and Icelanders would be able to use newer and more secure documents instead of paper certificates.
