Þessi þingsályktunartillaga felur í sér að Alþingi myndi styrkja útgáfu á gömlum dómum og skjölum Yfirréttarins með 10 milljónum krónum á ári í 10 ár. Tillagan var lögð fram til að minnast 100 ára afmælis Hæstaréttar Íslands árið 2020 og til að ljúka mikilvægum verkefni við að gera réttarsögu Íslands aðgengilega. Forseti Alþingis myndi ganga til samstarfs við Þjóðskjalasafn og Sögufélag um verkefnið. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu allt að níu bindi með dómum og skjölum úr Yfirrréttinum gefa út á næstu árum, sem myndi veita fyllri mynd af réttarsögu landsins.
This parliamentary resolution proposes that Parliament would fund the publication of old judgments and documents from the Court of Appeal with 10 million kronur annually for 10 years. The proposal was put forward to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Iceland in 2020 and to complete an important project of making Iceland's legal history accessible. The President of Parliament would collaborate with the National Archives and the Historical Society on the project. If the resolution passes, up to nine volumes of judgments and documents from the Court of Appeal would be published over the coming years, providing a more complete picture of Iceland's legal history.
