Björn Leví Gunnarsson spyr umhverfis- og auðlindaráðherra þrjár spurningar um hafverndarsvæði við Ísland. Hann vill vita hversu stór hluti af ströndum og hafsvæðum okkar er nú verndaður, og hvernig Ísland hyggst ná markmiðum Sameinuðu þjóðanna um vernd náttúru fyrir árslok 2020. Þriðja spurningin snýst um það hversu langt út frá landi myndu verndarsvæðin þurfa að ná ef vernda ætti allt strandland Íslands. Björn Leví Gunnarsson asks the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources three questions about marine protected areas around Iceland. He wants to know what percentage of Iceland's coastline and marine areas are currently protected, and how Iceland plans to meet the United Nations' nature protection targets by the end of 2020. The third question asks how far from land protective zones would need to extend if all of Iceland's coastline were to be protected. The answers will reveal whether Iceland is on track with marine protection efforts and whether our commitments are realistic.
