Þessi þingsályktunartillaga biður Alþingi um að samþykkja nýjar reglur um hafnir sem Evrópusambandið hefur sett, en Ísland þarf að fylgja þessum reglum vegna EES-samningsins. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að Ísland gat ekki strax samþykkt reglurnar án þess að Alþingi væri með í því, og nú hefur Alþingi 6 mánuða tíma til að samþykkja þær. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga munu nýjar reglur um gagnsæi í fjármálum hafna og veitingu hafnarþjónustu gilda á Íslandi, en þetta breytir ekki meginreglum EES-samningsins.
This parliamentary resolution asks the Icelandic Parliament to approve new EU rules about ports that Iceland must follow as part of the EEA Agreement.
