Hún var lögð fram til að upplýsa Alþingi um stöðu og niðurstöður starfa Íslandsdeildarinnar á þessum mikilvægu svæðum, auk þess sem hún fjallar um aðra stærri málefni eins og óstöðugleika við Miðjarðarhaf, átök í Sýrlandi og flóttamannagrefina sem það hefur í för með sér.
