Björn Leví Gunnarsson og fleiri þingmenn vildu fella úr gildi takmarkana sem segja að starfsmenn megi ekki taka fæðingarorlof skemur en tvær vikur í senn. Með því væru starfsmenn sveigjanlegri við að velja hversu stutta tíma þeir vildu taka orlof, svo framt sem vinnuveitandi væri sammála.
During question time, a bill to amend the parental leave law was discussed. Björn Leví Gunnarsson and other parliamentarians wanted to remove the restriction that requires employees to take at least two weeks of parental leave at a time. This would give workers more flexibility to take shorter periods of leave, as long as their employer agrees.
