Þessi þingsályktunartillaga biður Alþingi um leyfi til að Ísland geti staðfest nýja Evrópureglugerð um gagnkvæm viðskipti á netinu. Reglugerðin á að banna það að fyrirtæki banni fólki aðgang að vörum og þjónustum á netinu bara fyrir það sem það er af þjóðerni eða þar sem það býr. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að Evrópusambandið samþykkti þessa nýju reglugerð en Ísland þarf heimild Alþingis til að geta tekið hana upp samkvæmt EES-samningnum. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu íslensk lög og reglur um neytendavernd og almennt þjónustuframboð breytast til að passa við Evrópureglurnar og banna ósanngjarna mismunun á netinu.
This parliamentary resolution asks Parliament for permission so that Iceland can officially adopt a new European regulation about fair online commerce. The regulation aims to ban companies from preventing people from accessing products and services online simply because of their nationality or where they live.
