Þessi þingsályktunartillaga fjallar um að koma á skipulögðum kennslu í skólum og frístundastarfi til að vernda börn og ungmenni gegn kynferðislegu og kynbundnu ofbeldi og áreitni. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að líkt og í mörgum löndum er þetta alvarlegt samfélagsvandi sem hefur skaðleg áhrif á börn og ungmenni. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu allir skólar og frístundastarf á landinu byrja að kenna börnum um persónuleg mörk, virðingu og jafningjasamskipti, auk fræðslu um kynheilbrigði. Markmiðið er að skapa menningu virðingar og öryggis þar sem slíkt ofbeldi og áreitni gæti ekki átt sér stað og að börn væru ekki fyrir því úti fyrir neinu.
This parliamentary resolution proposes establishing organized teaching in schools and youth programs to protect children and young people from sexual and gender-based violence and harassment. The resolution was put forward because this is a serious social problem in Iceland, as it is in many countries, with harmful effects on young people. If passed, all schools and youth programs across the country would begin teaching children about personal boundaries, respect, and peer relationships, along with sexual health education. The goal is to create a culture of respect and safety where such violence and harassment cannot thrive and to ensure that children have the right to be safe at home, at school, and in their free time.
