This parliamentary resolution proposes that an independent audit of Landeyjahöfn be started immediately and completed by March 31, 2020. The resolution was put forward because the harbor is in poor condition and disrupts transportation between the Westman Islands and mainland Iceland, which is difficult for the islanders. The audit should investigate whether the harbor can be improved to reduce the need for constant dredging, and if not possible, what methods should be used to keep it open year-round.
