Björn Leví Gunnarsson spyr umhverfis- og auðlindaráðherra tveir spurningar um Veðurstofu Íslands. Fyrst vill hann vita hvaða verkefni Veðurstofa er skylt samkvæmt lögum að sinna. Seinni spurningin snýst um peningana – hversu miklu fé er úthlutað til þessara skyldulegu verkefna og hversu mikið fer í hvert einstakt verkefni samkvæmt fjárlögum fyrir árið 2020. Þessar spurningar skipta máli vegna þess að með því að vita hvað Veðurstofa á að gera og hvað það kostar geta alþingismenn fylgst með því hvort stofnunin fær nægilegt fjármagn til að sinna skyldum sínum.
Björn Leví Gunnarsson asks the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources two questions about the Icelandic Meteorological Office. First, he wants to know what duties the office is required by law to perform.
